An open-source framework to make neural networks hardware-ready
Project: hls4ml
Researchers are exploring ways to bring the power of artificial intelligence directly onto specialized hardware. A key effort in this area is the hls4ml project, which allows scientists to take existing neural networks — the foundation of many AI systems — and run them in real-time on field-programmable gate arrays, or FPGAs. Instead of downloading large datasets and analyzing them offline, hls4ml enables embedding AI algorithms directly as circuits in experimental readout systems for immediate and ultrafast feedback.
